Every week someone DM’s appreviewsng.blog saying “I invested ₦20,000 in an app and they blocked me”.
The truth: 80% of “money making apps” in Nigeria are scams. In this post I’ll show you the 7 red flags to spot a fake app before you waste your time or money.
Red Flag 1: They Ask You to Pay to Withdraw
Legit apps are free. If an app says “Pay ₦2,000 activation fee to withdraw”, run. Real apps like AttaPoll and Timebucks never ask for money.
Red Flag 2: Unrealistic Earnings
“Earn ₦500,000 in 7 days by watching videos” is a lie. Real apps pay ₦500 – ₦3,000 weekly. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
Red Flag 3: No Proof of Payment
Check Google Play Store reviews and YouTube. If you can’t find any Nigerian with withdrawal proof, don’t join. On appreviewsng.blog I always post screenshots.
Red Flag 4: No Contact Address or Support
Fake apps have no website, no email, no office. Just a Telegram group. Legit apps have help centers and respond to emails.
Red Flag 5: They Copy Big Brand Names
Scammers create “Opay Bonus App” or “PalmPay Earning”. It’s not the real Opay. Always download from Play Store and check developer name.
Red Flag 6: Pyramid/Referral Only Earnings
If you only earn when you refer 10 people, it’s a pyramid scheme. It will collapse. Legit apps pay you for tasks even without referrals.
Red Flag 7: App Disappears After 1 Month
Most scam apps launch, collect data, and vanish. Check how long the app has been on Play Store. If less than 3 months, be careful.
How to Protect Yourself
- Never pay to join a free app
- Read reviews on Play Store before installing
- Withdraw small amounts first to test
- Follow appreviewsng.blog for tested legit apps only
Final Word
Don’t let scammers kill your side hustle. Stick to apps that have been paying for years: Timebucks, AttaPoll, PalmPay, Honeygain.
